Cout Busi and his family acquired the estate in the 1800s. There are 225 acres of land of which 62 acres are comprised of olive trees and 148 acres are made up of vineyards. With excellently position on the slopes with a southerly exposure at an elevation between 886-1,214 feet above sea level the wines of Giovanni Bussi are award winning. Some wines from this Rufina area can be very high in acidity and tannins but due to Busi?s vinification methods the wines are quite approachable showing a subtle fruitiness against a strong tannin-acid backbone even when fairly young.
