The vineyards of Saint-Emilion are situated on the right bank of the Dordogne river, next to Libourne and Pomerol. This hilly region is dominated by calcium based soils which encourage the Merlot varietal to develop great ripeness and concentration rarely achieved elsewhere.
Winemaking:
Traditional fermentation allows the soil and grape variety to fully express itself in elegant aromas and supple tannins. Stainless steel tanks are used to control the fermentation temperature and frequent tank pump-overs enhance the fruit extraction. To capitalize on purely Merlot flavors, the wine is aged in tanks prior to bottling.
| Tasting notes |
| The Saint Emilion is bright red with purple highlights. The very fruity aroma of cherries and raspberries is also slightly earthy. This is a succulent wine with soft smooth tannins and a long and delicate finish. |
